Description

The SureScreen EtG Urine Alcohol Test is a rapid urine test for the qualitative detection of ethyl glucuronide (EtG), a metabolite formed in the body following alcohol consumption. Because EtG remains detectable in urine longer than alcohol itself, this test can be used to detect recent alcohol consumption.

SureScreen EtG Urine Alcohol Test

The test has a cut-off value of 1,000 ng/mL EtG. The test is immersed directly into the urine specimen and the result can be visually read after 5 minutes.

According to the manufacturer, after low alcohol consumption EtG may be detectable for approximately 13–20 hours. Following higher alcohol consumption, the detection period may extend up to a maximum of 80 hours. The actual detection period depends on factors including the amount of alcohol consumed and individual factors.

The test is intended for professional in vitro diagnostic use and provides a preliminary, qualitative test result.
