Nalophan bags

The Nalophan bags are specially designed to meet the quality requirements of EN 13725:2003 and ISO 17025, to minimize the risk of contamination of odor samples. The bags are mainly used for odor sampling.

The bags are available in the following sizes:

• 10 liters (per 10 bags)
• 30 liters (per 10 bags)
• 60 liters (per 5 bags)

Each bag has a PTFE tube at the end that can be used to fill the bag. The bags are supplied with PTFE caps to close the tubing.

Nalophan bags

The bags are made of Nalophan® and PTFE tubing to minimize surface reactions with sulfurs. Within the ISO 17025 accreditation scope the Nalophan® is tested according to No. 6.3.2 of the European Norm EN 13725:2003 as well as according to No. 4.3.1 of the German guideline VDI 3880:2011 and is released as norm conform material for the sampling of odour samples.

Each bag is tested for odor and leakage and then vacuum packed.

Specifications Nalophan

The bags are specialized bags made of Nalophan, which is a type of nylon film that has low permeability to gases. These bags are commonly used for the collection and storage of gas and air samples in various industries. The most common application is odor sampling. One of the primary advantages of Nalophan sample bags is their ability to prevent the loss or contamination of gas samples. Because Nalophan has low gas permeability, the bags are effective at preserving the composition of the sample by preventing gases from diffusing in or out of the bag.

Nalophan and PureSniff

Nalophan sample bags are also compatible with a wide range of analytical instruments. For odor sampling we would recommend using the PureSniff devices. With a PureSniff device, you can measure an odour’s intensity, hedonic tone and pleasantness by the direct evaluation of an undiluted sample. As the operator triggers a volume flow, the odour sample streams out of the sample bag and passes through a funnel (diffuser) to the human nose. Each olfactory tester or examiner gets an identical odour sample with a standardised volume flow and constant presentation time.
