Sniffin’ Sticks Screening 12 Test with Taste Strips
The Burghart “Screening 12 Test” is an identification test with 12 different everyday smells and 4 x 25 taste strips. It can be used to find a rough answer to the question whether a patient has normal or diminished olfactory capability. The patient names the smells using a multiple choice form which offers four definitions for every pen, only one of which is correct. A template that goes with the multiple choice forms makes evaluation very simple. The olfactory test „Screening 12 Test“ allows for the distinction between „healthy“ and „not healthy“. It is based on the identification of every-day odours in the scope of a „multiple-forced-choice“ method. The time required for the execution and evaluation of the test is between 3 and 4 minutes. The test is recommended by the corresponding boards of experts or is established through the publication in renowned specialist journals.
The odours of these sticks are peppermint, fish, coffee, banana, orange, rose, lemon, pineapple, cinnamon, cloves, leather and liquorice.
This set contains a holder, instructions, evaluation material and 4 x 25 taste strips (with 1 forcep) which can be used for testing the four basic qualities (sweet, sour, salty, bitter) of taste in addition.
